On March 22, 2016, Georgios Papadopoulos, Atypon’s CEO and founder, was an invited guest speaker at Google’s “Scholar Talk Series.” Georgios shared his vision for deeper collaboration between Google Scholar and publishing platform providers for the combined benefit of authors, researchers, publishers, and Google. An engineer himself, he outlined five projects for overcoming specific scholarly publishing search challenges and for optimizing the industry’s online future. His talk was followed by a lively and extensive discussion of his proposals with the Google Scholar team, led by its inventor Anurag Acharya.
