SANTA CLARA, California—February 16, 2010—Atypon™ today announced that Gordon Tibbitts has joined the company as its President, reporting to CEO Georgios Papadopoulos. Tibbitts joins Atypon after serving as Chief Executive Officer of Berkeley Electronic Press.
Prior to Berkeley Electronic Press, Tibbitts served as President of Blackwell Publishing (now Wiley-Blackwell) for seven years, during which time he transformed the company into the world's largest society publisher and spearheaded the development of its digital publishing platform.
Tibbitts has also served as Director of Information Systems for Aster Publishing (later Advanstar) and as a Vice President for the Thomson Corporation. He has a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science degree and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Oregon.
