SANTA CLARA, California—November 4, 2009—Atypon Systems, Inc. today announced the signings of the American Economic Association and the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health. Atypon's software will power their new publishing websites, which will launch shortly.
The American Economic Association publishes seven journals, including the new American Economic Journals series. The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health is publisher of the Journal of Gambling Issues, a leading forum for developments in gambling-related research, policy, and treatment.
Both publishers will use Atypon Premium, Atypon's flagship publishing platform, to power their new websites. Atypon Premium has been continuously developed since 1998 and is the foundation of some of the world's largest publishing websites, including JSTOR and the American Chemical Society.
"Atypon has provided us with a clear upgrade path from Atypon Link to Atypon Premium," said Drucilla Ekwurzel, Director of Publication Services for the American Economic Association. "Knowing that Atypon could provide us with more advanced solutions as our publishing program progressed was a critical factor in our decision to renew our partnership."
"As a small publisher, it's important to be able to increase our visibility and make our content more readily accessible," said Daryl Boshart, Editor of the Journal of Gambling Issues. "Atypon Premium will position us for growth by giving us tools to take control of our content and business in an easy way, and it will deliver a superior experience to our readers."
"Atypon Premium is the leading platform for content discovery and delivery," said Audrey Melkin, Director of Business Development for Atypon. "By providing a selection of user interface templates to choose from, we're able to provide small- and medium-sized publishers with the same platform that's used by the largest of publishers at a price point that works for them."
