SANTA CLARA, CA, Atypon Systems and New York, NY, Guilford Publications Inc – August 8, 2006 – announced today that the Guilford Journals will remain on the newly enhanced Atypon Link platform for 2 years. Atypon currently hosts 15 of Guilford titles and will continue to add to this valuable journal collection over the coming period.

Since its re-launch under new branding and functionality in June this year, the new Link platform has been receiving impressive feedback from users and Publishers. Existing Link Publishers, such as Guilford, are now renewing and extending their contracts on a regular basis. New Publishing partners are also signing up.

Recent contract extensions and new signings include Springer Publishing, TASH, AEA, Logos, CIOB and Alexandrine Press.

Overall, feedback from publishers is showing that they are choosing Atypon Link to launch and manage their content online because of the benefits gained from a well managed outsourced e-publishing service that requires minimal in-house resources. This includes the use of automated "back-end" technology efficiencies that keep the cost and hassle to a minimum.

On hearing of their decision to extend their relationship with the company, Audrey Melkin, Director of Business Development at Atypon said, "We are delighted that Guilford Publications have chosen to put their trust and confidence in Atypon by renewing their contract with us. We look forward to helping Guilford continue to build their online revenues over the coming years."

About Guilford Publications Inc.

Guilford Publications, Inc., was founded in 1973, with a full-time staff of one. We've since grown to over sixty times that number, and have built an international reputation as a publisher of books, periodicals, software, and audiovisual programs in mental health, education, and the social sciences.

Based in New York City's historic SoHo district, Guilford's offices are bordered by both Little Italy and Chinatown. This vibrant downtown neighborhood—renowned for its cast-iron architecture, artistic community, and international flair—retains its unique character despite the mall stores that have sprouted up around it. Similarly, Guilford's independent identity, stability, and commitment to quality make it a rarity in today's rapidly conglomerating publishing world. The firm is wholly owned by its two founding partners, president Bob Matloff and editor-in-chief Seymour Weingarten, who remain actively involved in its day-to-day business, and many staff members have been at Guilford for more than 20 years.
