CAMBRIDGE, MA and SANTA CLARA, CA – December 08, 2005 – The MIT Press announced today that it is partnering with Atypon to host the new MIT Press online journals publishing platform.

The MIT Press will be working with Atypon's Premium solution, a full service information platform for electronic publishing that is a cost effective solution for publishers of any size.

Atypon's Literatum software was designed to give publishers maximum flexibility and control of their content, business models, and users. Atypon provides solutions ranging from a cost effective, simple-to-use content hosting and delivery service to a set of sophisticated tools and custom solutions for hands-on management of online content. "At The MIT Press, we serve an audience of intelligent, increasingly busy readers who have more information to digest than ever before. We are confident that the decision to move to Atypon will allow our readers to access our wide range of journal content on a high-quality and well-developed web platform with great ease" said Rebecca McLeod, Journals Manager for The MIT Press. "We're pleased to have chosen Atypon as our partner."

Atypon Premium

Atypon Premium e-publishing solution offers publishers a complete platform that manages each step of the process from content production and linking to administration of content collections and licensing models through full control of a custom-designed, branded website for their users. Publishers use a sophisticated administration tool to gain a high level of hands-on administrative control of their online business and a customized, feature-rich web site to present their content.

Atypon is continuing to build on this platform with modules that allow publishers greater control over the content and appearance of their site, additional tools to efficiently mine usage data and create marketing and outreach programs.

Atypon Premium is geared towards publishers wishing to maximize the power of the Internet to build their online business, experiment with new business models and content configurations, customize their websites, and reach a wider audience.

"The MIT Press was looking for a partner that could provide them with cutting edge technology, a responsive and easy-to-use electronic hosting platform, and a team of solutions experts who understood the needs of their customers and could provide the highest levels of service and satisfaction" said Georgios Papadopoulos, Atypon's CEO. "Atypon offers a mature, and stable platform for all our publishing clients and we look forward to working with MIT Press for many years to come."
